Our PRIMA-SIRAM partner EVOTROPIA, responsible for WP5 on the economic analysis and potential market extensions of the project's results participated as keynote speaker to the Agribusiness Forum 7th International Edition on 21 to 22 November 2024, in Chapter 3 "The stress of livestock (farming, feeding, meat and dairy industries)" with representatives from the EU Commission, farms and businesses. EVOTROPIA presented data on the European Union's heavy dependence on soymeal imports and the potential to partially substitute them with domestic production of legumes for high-content protein animal feed. As legumes comprose a multi-purpose cutivation and significant part of regenerative agronomic practices (e.g. co-crops), EVOTROPIA presented estimations on the lifecycle benefits of regenerative agricultural practices in relation to conventional agriculture and a proposition for a certification-labeling system for regenerative farms that can be easily coupled to ESG and financial investment criteria" (for more information about this work, please download D5.2.2https://www.siram-prima.org/about-5).
